my eyes were opened today.
during lunch, i had to talk to some teachers so i just walked around the halls waiting for the next class to start. i walked down by the band and choir room and watched kids play on their instruments and do some crazy dances while their other friends were singing broadway tunes. i walked in front of the school to see a bunch of kids eating lunches by themselves seemingly in their own worlds. i walked down a hall where kids were just sitting against lockers not even talking to each other. i walked down a hall to find kids break dancing and listening to rap music. i walked past the library and saw kids playing computer games or getting ahead on homework. and then i returned to the third floor foyer. i saw the "jocks" in their football jerseys, and the girls in their stylish matching outfits. i felt like i had just seen every "click" in the school. i had no idea half of them existed. but my thought was, where do i fit in? i am no longer wearing a mandonelle hoodie to school every friday, so where does that leave me? i feel like i fit in, but i wonder where people "place" me. i don't care, it doesn't matter to me at all if im "popular" or not, but it left me wondering.
